DA and AMI hosted services

Project Description: Third Party Hosted – Distribution Automation (DA) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) service.

The third party is collecting the information from the utilities DA controls network as well as AMI network. A SCADA-HMI interface is provided for the Distribution Automation Controls. The plan is for the third party to integrate the DA and AMI information to provide enhanced controls for the distribution network. Utilities are looking at an option of hosted services for AMI and DA as the support requirements for the large volumes of data with AMI and DA are large. Support includes computers and staff to maintain the computer and utilize the information. Hosted services remove a large asset management burden from the utilities for the computers and staff, allowing the utility to focus on their job of delivering power.
